Idealism and Electoral Politics
You see that Picture. I will come to this picture but let me
start with content of this blog today. Today I want to write a very crude experience
of politics. I am no political commentator neither a student of politics but
yes I belong to a community which is very near to politics. It might be a
reason why I take genuine interest in politics.
Today in this Blog I would drag your attention towards the
idealism (which we demand) and the reality of politics.
Let us look into some of the recent happenings of Indian
Electoral Politics in questions form.
Q.1 Why Did BJP Chose Mrs. Kiran Bedi over long –standing leaders
of party?
Q.2. Why Did not Congress Put Fight in Delhi Elections?
Q.3. Why BJP Supported Manjhi in Bihar?
Q.4. Why did BJP broke away 6 MLA’s of JVM in Jharkhand when
they had the majority govt.?
Q.5. Why Did BJP govt. at the centre has special things for
Bihar and Bengal in the Budget?
Now, I would ask you to look at the image of the paper
cutting. In this picture we can see British PM visiting a Hindu Temple amidst
of Mid-terms. Why he did that?
Next, we all remember what happened to Wall-Mart in India
but why Govt. of India did supported it blindly, and coincidence is in the same
year Mr. Barak Obama re-elected as the president of United States of America.
We all also know USA is a state which supports capital. Now, was there any
politics involved in getting Wall-Mart sanctioned in India and Re-election of
Mr. Obama.
I am not here to answer any of the questions I have asked,
it’s because a prudent man knows the answers of these questions. Neither, I am
alleging here any political leader or any political party. What I want to say
is that politician is a very psychologist or pragmatic psychologist. They smell
what voters need? They understand voter’s conscience more than anybody else in
the world.
Therefore, I say that it is irrelevant to fight for an
idealist in politics because Even Lord Krishna(Whom I believe best politician
ever) to gain power use everything you have- Money, Power, Emotion, Punishment,
threat (Saam, Daam, Danda, Bheda). The problem
is us the people, who actually wants their politicians to act in a certain
manner and when if asked about it and if it seems wrong on general then vehemently
oppose it. We never admit that our politicians are doing the right thing but
when we go inside the voting room, standing in front of voting machine we
recall what is in our heart. For E.g. whether candidate thought about my CASTE,
RELIGION and My Interests.
If we want idealism in politics we (people) need to ideal,
just demanding from someone who has grown between us won’t help. Politicians
are the most pragmatic creature and they do what is needed to win an election.
So stop complaining and start thinking and changing ourselves
if we want change in politics.
P.S- Although I would say it’s impossible because this same
nature is from the beginning of Humankind.
